10 April 2020 – warmest on record in central England

The maximum temperature yesterday (10 April 2020) in central England of 22.4°C was provisionally the highest since the daily maximum series started in 1878, exceeding the previous maximum by a massive 2.4°C. Yesterdays maximum anomaly was over 11°C above the 1961-1990 LTA. The 10th of April has been getting progressively warmer in central England since 1878 by around 0.166°C per decade.
