15-16 Jan 2021 – overnight precipitation

Estimated accumulations from weather radar

There was a sound I hadn’t heard for a good few years as the frost lifted yesterday evening, and that was the sound of snow sliding off the roof. The fronts through but the overnight rain hasn’t cleared much of the lying snow and it’s still only 2°C in the strath this morning, so I think I would describe it as “less cold” rather than “milder” at least this morning. Orangey kind of sunrise from what we can see of it from down in the dip doesn’t bode well for later this week. I’m going to have to plant that copper gauge of mine out in the garden to check these estimates because 21.8 mm looks way too high to me.
