15 Mar 2021 – The Ides of March

The weather has settled down again at the start of a new week as pressure continues to build from the southwest. There’s not a lot doing on the weather or climate front at the moment, so here’s my version of this mornings 09 UTC analysis. I can spot one warm front but I can’t for the life of me see the two others to the west of Ireland. The 15th of March is in fact the Ides of March in the old Roman lunar calendar. A fixed date for the Ides doesn’t work too well with a date that’s based on the lunar cycle, and this month the full moon won’t occur until the 28th. Beware today – you have been warned.
