After yesterday’s afternoons exceptional mild maximum of 18.8°C, the night remained clear at Strathallan allowing temperatures to crash to a low of just 0.2°C. That made for a very respectable diurnal range of 18.6°C. The AWS must be somewhere in the vicinity of the Strathallen airfield, but on a quick inspection it’s exact position has eluded me. Answers on a postcard. The airfield is well hidden in some lovely country just north of the Gleneagles golf course, so I imagine the grass runway may have seen some illustrious visitors over the years en route for a round of golf there. I notice that I have the name of the site wrong in my stations data file which I will have to amend.
