19-21 Feb 2021 – Welsh rainfall

Estimated rainfall accumulations from weather radar

There has been close to 200 mm of rainfall in the wettest spots in Snowdonia and across the Black mountains in the south in the last 48 hours although the frontal system that brought the rain died a death as it edged eastwards yesterday afternoon. I haven’t had time to check the values with the reality of the 5″ copper gauge I’m afraid but they shouldn’t be too far out. I would have like to have seen the estimated accumulations figures across the northwest of Scotland but the Met Office are still scratching around looking for a 13 amp fuse to fix the Stornoway radar with.
