19 Jan 2021 – 13 UTC analysis

An easy analysis today as far as I can see over IONA at 13 UTC. Not surprisingly the UKMO think differently – why have one warm front when you can have two? If you can find two of them you’re a better man than I am Gunga Din. I’m not at all convinced about that cold front through Valentia either, visibility 4,500 metres, dewpoint still 10.9°C and seven oktas of stratus at 600 feet? In a way the Met Office analyses are indicative of how they function as an organisation, sticklers for detail but cluttered for all that.
