1990 : Wettest February since 1862 in the UK

The wettest February on record in the UK in the new extended gridded data series from the Met Office, was that of February 1990, which if you remember was another very stormy month thirty years ago. Ben Rich was suggesting in the weather spot at 2.30 PM on the BBC News channel, that this February might well be the wettest on record. I think this February would have to go some to beat that, as from what I’ve seen some from my investigations into precipitation totals so far this month, places in the east have seen quite an average if not slightly below average month.
