20 Jan 2021 – 08 UTC analysis and extremes

Another very windy and mild night for mid January across the bulk of England and Wales, with minima no lower than 10°C quite widely in southwestern parts, but a cold night across the Highlands with a moderate frost and a minimum of -5.6°C at Loch Glascarnoch. It’s been snowing in parts of eastern Scotland too, and it’s a bit like a snow globe out there at the moment in the strath, as a dusting of new snow has come to the rescue of the old snow overnight.
