22-23 December 2020 – Overnight minima and anomalies

Even though a northerly airstream has set in across northern parts, the colder air has only just managed to bring anomalies back closer to average for late December. The colder places seem to be in more sheltered eastern regions and the Hebrides where it remained clear of cloud for longest. Meanwhile across the south anomalies are in the range 6 to 10 degrees above the LTA for the 23rd of December with Hurn an estimated anomaly of +9.7°C at Hurn. I’m sure the arrival of tomorrow’s colder air across the south will be a shock to the system for people here.
