I came across this viewer that I had added to my Web Radar application when I first wrote it over ten years ago but then forgot about. It’s nothing particularly clever, it just adds the coloured pixels up on each weather radar frame, calculates a percentage for each class of intensity displaying the results in an area graph. Here are the results since midnight on Thursday which shows how the daytime heating produced an increase in rainfall totals on both mornings from around 09 UTC. Shower activity peaked in the early afternoon, before steadily decreasing yesterday evening. Interestingly, for some unknown reason, shower activity started to increase again just before midnight.
