A candidate for Storm Ellen

The media are already baying for a follow up to storms Ciara and Dennis, but the only real contender I can see in the short term is a low forecast to run across the north of Scotland next Monday (T+132) by the ECMWF model. I have a feeling this won’t get the pulses racing down in Exeter, for a start it looks like it will only affect the north of the country, and they are used to that kind of thing, and at the moment it isn’t forecast to be anywhere near as deep as either Ciara or Dennis were. The Met Office have been making a big play about how they spotted an embryonic Dennis developing in a two hundred knot jet stream of the eastern seaboard of America five or six days out, so let’s see how they get on with this one.
