A few more euphemisms

I shouldn’t really complain because at least the person who wrote this forecast for the Highlands at the Met Office is obviously trying their best to present it in their own jaunty style and add some interest to what must be a pretty tedious task on their night shift down in Exeter. I realise the sun doesn’t get that high above the yardarm at 57° north, but when it does it’s certainly not weak sunshine. As for the phrase summit snow, as you can see from the thermograph for Cairngorm temperatures have been sub-zero since the 19th on the summits and, despite a brief milder interlude forecast for later on Christmas day, will remain sub-zero for the foreseeable future. At least they have given me the opportunity to add a couple more euphemisms to my ever growing collection.
