A look back at the daily temperature in central England for the year 2019. The super mild spell in February stands out well when nine of the fourteen new maximum temperature records set that year were broken. The exceptionally cold day of the 11th of June was the only new minimum record of any minimum record set in another year when extreme high temperatures again far outweighed the extreme lows. Also noteworthy of course is the 25th of July, the 34.1°C on that day making it the warmest day in the CET series since the daily extreme series began in 1878, and coincided with the new UK highest maximum of 38.7°C set at Cambridge.
