A taste of what’s to come this Autumn?

The one thing that you can never say about the weather across IONA is that it’s ever boring. After an eight day heat wave across England comes to a thundery end, a taste of maybe what’s to come this Autumn, as a vigorous low 957 hPa is forecast to do an exquisite pirouette and explosively deepens to the west of Valentia on Thursday of the coming week. It certainly must have some tropical air mixed up with it, but it’s been quite a while since Hurricane Isaias left the scene on the 3rd of August in the Atlantic, so it’s not the reanimated remains of any deceased tropical cyclone as far as I can see. If this ECMWF forecast is correct the UKMO will be hoisting southwesterly cones for southwestern parts on Friday.
