Amber warning for heavy rain in south Wales on Friday

You don’t see many amber warnings issued for heavy rain by the Met Office who say that up to 100 mm could fall in just 12 hours across the higher ground of south Wales on Friday. That amount of rain in such a short time will certainly cause some flooding issues as it rushes down those steep valleys. Here are the forecast 48 hour accumulations from four other leading NWP models. There is quite a variation in them which I suppose is as much down to the speed of the front as it is to the heaviness of the rain.
