Another precise rainfall warning

It’s hats off to the Met Office for yet another well forecast yellow warning of heavy rain in western Scotland for yesterday. As you can see from the estimated accumulations from weather radar there were some purple pixels in the mix over the mountains in the west indicating totals of more than 100 mm in the 36 hour period. There wasn’t quite as much rain as anticipated south of the central belt though, and winds over the mountains were much stronger than forecast.
