Another rather cold day especially in the east

Excuse the Tibbenham anomaly I have still to filter out short LTA’s

Temperatures at lunchtime were again generally below the LTA in most places across IONA, especially in Eastern England where anomalies were quite extensively between three and six degrees below average. But because weathercasters at the BBC have been effectively banned from using the word ‘cold’, replacing it with another euphemism from an ever lengthening list, just how cold it is very frequently gets left out of any forecast that you see. That doesn’t stop them working themselves into a frenzy about the chances of temperatures exceeding 20°C during this coming Bank Holiday weekend.
