After last years record breaking sunny April who would have thought that another one would follow the very next year? For much of the month Leuchars in Fife was on top of the leader board for sunniest place in IONA. But thanks to three cloudy days from the low that migrated south at the end of the month they might have made it into the top three. As it was sunny Jersey with over 285 hours of sunshine that pipped two welsh stations to the top spot in what was another exceptionally sunny April. It will be interesting to see how 2021 fared against 2020. Regionally in the north I think there’s little doubt that 2021 was the sunnier, in the south it maybe that 2020 was sunnier. Who said that climate stats were boring?
