BBC finally notice it’s cold in northern Scotland
Its took awhile, but the BBC weather presenters have finally twigged on to the fact that it’s rather cold in the north of Scotland. Another beautiful sunny day here in Strathpeffer where the sun rises at 0900 and sets at 1534 on the winter solstice, that’s just 6 hours and 34 minutes of sunshine, and the sun never quite makes it over the tops of the hills and mountains to warm up the straths and glens in this part of the world. I’m sure that in some of the steeper glens direct sunlight won’t happen again till the end of March.
At 11 UTC this morning temperatures across northern Scotland have warmed little from their overnight minima, and if anything at Aviemore have cooled a bit more.
