Break down in fine spell by Sunday

Courtesy of

Four NWP models seem to be in agreement that this fine spell of weather we have been enjoying will temporarily break down by Sunday. How that comes about is open to some doubt, because all have a slightly different way of handling that breakdown. The general consensus is that a small low will form to the west of Scotland and slowly deepen as it moves eastward into Norway dragging down colder northerlies behind it for a time. After that, if you believe the GFS model, it’s back to business as usual, with a zonal westerly flow across the north and high pressure holding on across the south.
