Cairngorm coldest since May

The cold air that has been sat to the north of Scotland for a few days now finally managed to push further south yesterday and bring the freezing level down to around 900 metres or so this morning. The -3°C overnight minimum on Cairngorm was the lowest since late May. From what I can see the webcams this morning just show a covering of frost rather than snow at the Ptarmigan restaurant (1097 M), but I shouldnt imagine it’ll be too long before one or two of the showers in the vicinity put down a dusting. I wonder if any snow patch survived in Scotland this year – I very much doubt it in what was the wettest summer on record.
