Change of type signalled for early November

A change of type is coming hard on the heels of a string of fierce extratropical lows that ushers in the start of November, that’s if the latest forecasts from the models are to believed. The big question is just how long will this one one? The last change in type in the middle of October saw an anticyclone sit to the northwest of the UK for a few days, and this one might end up being just as short lived and do the same thing. The Met Office have decided that high pressure will predominate across the south and the north will remain mobile, I just wonder if they are going to be right about that, I’ll keep you updated on that one.
