Cold front finally gets a wiggle on

15 UTC 9 May 2020

I never really believed the forecast in the various models from earlier in the week regarding their forecast of today’s rain across the NW of Scotland, but it ultimately proved to be completely correct – isn’t science just wonderful. I reckon the cold fronts passage south has been held up for at least 12 hours, with little in the way of movement, but eventually late this afternoon it looks like it’s got a bit of a wiggle on and is finally heading southbound. It probably dropped the temperature in Strathpeffer from 15°C to 7°C and in the process dropped 8 to 16 mm of rain locally as it did.
