Cold wave in midwest


A major cold wave is under way across the central United States extending from the Arctic Canada in the north, right down to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in the south. After a very mild January temperatures have been steadily falling across the midwest for the last ten days or so. The cold at 06 UTC seems to be centred across Nebraska with a temperature of -32.2°C at Norfolk.

  1. Millions on rolling blackouts in Texas, as wind turbines frozen & solar panels covered in snow.

    All forms of generation in Texas have been effected by the cold snap. Also, Texas has it’s own power grid so has found it difficult to import energy from the rest of the USA. Still, the right wing of politics always love a scapegoat…
