Cue the sun

I am afraid that this animated fly through 3D bar chart of accumulations from the precipitation that storm Christoph will bring is little better than the high speed weather animation the Met Office used in their last tweet to announce the storm. I realise there is a monumental battle between the UKMO and the BBC going on with each side continually trying to outdo itself, but sometimes a simple static image of forecast accumulations will suffice.

As a complete aside and for some strange reason I have now managed to link in my head storm Christoph with the character Christof that’s played by Ed Harris in one of my favourite films The Truman Show. One of the great lines from that film occurs when the whole cast is out searching for Truman after he has gone missing and because its night Christof suggests that they cue the sun.

Christof: We need more light, we’ll never find him this way. What time is it?

Chloe: It’s… way too early for that.

Christof: Cue the sun.
