DIY global temperatures continue to fall

In my DIY global temperature series, that I calculate from daily gridded reanalysis data, the latest 365 day average of global temperature continues it’s sharp decline of the last year, and is now close to levels that we last saw back in 2015, and over 0.1°C lower at its most recent peak. The cooling trend started well before the latest La Niña began, but is no doubt being helped along by it at the moment. Here is a look at the last 18 months global daily anomalies overlaid with a seven day moving centred average. If this year continues in the same way it should make for a far more interesting 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow in November.
