Dry April continues

Here are the latest climate statistics for the first seventeen days of April 2021 that you can glean from the SYNOP reports. They show that the dry April continues across large parts of the IONA, with St James Park being the driest with no rainfall at all this month reported. The 0.3 mm on the face of it at Leuchars does look a little dodgy, but its well supported by the 0.9 mm at Gogarbank, and the fact that there has been almost ten hours of sunshine each day there for the month so far. You know that it’s getting seriously dry when seven of the last seventeen days at Capel Curig have been dry. April 2021 is shaping up to be a rather memorable one not only as far as precipitation is concerned, but also temperature and sunshine.
