Feb 2021 – Weekly circulation patterns

I have split February into weekly mean pressure charts to try and capture a better picture of the cold anticyclonic easterly nature of the second week of the month as opposed to the very mild strong south or southwesterlies that dominated in the second half of the month. Much higher than average pressure in the first two weeks of the month to the north of IONA that produced the anticyclonic easterlies collapsed mid-month to allow low pressure to dominate across the central Atlantic and high pressure to reassert itself across the Alps.
