It’s no wonder that Europe has ended up with the mildest winter on records with February returning another startlingly high +6.4°C anomaly. I notice that the media have suddenly woken up to just how exceptionally mild this winter has been across Europe, particularly in the east and northeast. Up until now there have been very few stories about it, even from the countries most affected by it such as Finland and Russia. Looking at the article in the Guardian I see that the word mild to Describe higher than average temperatures in winter has now become redundant, and is effectively superseded by the rather more sensational word hotter, not on this website. Here are just some previous articles I published about the winter warmth across Europe.
