First hints of an easterly?

I may be clutching at straws as to what might come next this winter here, but there are the first signs of an easterly developing across the north in the first few days of February if the latest ECMWF model run can be trusted. You’ll notice this is deeper cold air at 850 hPa, shades of purple rather than shades of blue. I have also noticed that in recent days the UKMO have been including the possibility of something like this happening in their long range forecast, so we live in hope. By the way drawing fronts on NWP charts like I have has given me a real insight into the mind of Mr Occlusion – it’s really quite addictive!
