Flooding in Essex

Estimated and Actual Rainfall accumulations

Just a few white pixels indicating estimated accumulations in excess of 80 mm across parts of Essex late yesterday were enough to cause flooding in the centre of Chelmsford. There were of a similar intensity to those seen in the thunderstorms across Fife overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, but were not on the same scale, more of a line feature running SE-NW. It’s a shame we don’t have the Gravesend Broadness AWS anymore.
