
Not only were the central Highlands of Scotland the warmest place across the country at 12 UTC today, it also saw the highest anomalies, widely 10°C higher than the LTA. Interestingly the anomaly at Aviemore of +12.3°C was just a shade higher than the +12.0°C found on the top of Cairngorm at 1237 M AMSL. The sea breeze managed to blow all day along the Moray coast and further south down along the North Sea coast south of Flamborough head to keep temperatures down.
