Frosty April

The first half of April has been cold and very frosty this year in the UK especially across the north of Scotland. Both Loch Glascarnoch and Aboyne still have a 100% air frost record so far this month. Don’t ask why the ground frosts at Glascarnoch aren’t also at 100% – I just add up the numbers from the 06 UTC SYNOP reports -and it may well be the 10 cm of snow they’ve had caused problems.
