Global temperatures bounce back above +1°C
Estimated CRUTEM global mean temperatures have bounced back up above the +1°C pre-industrial level in the latest March monthly values that have finally been issued by the Met Office after a four week delay in the release of the figures. Twelve month mean temperatures have been falling sharply since early 2016. The trend has been dramatically reversed since August of 2018. The sharp peak of high 12 month mean temperatures which occurred towards the end of 2015 has now worked its way out of the moving average, it will be interesting to see how steep the trend in warming will be during the rest of this year.
