Gusts to 58 knots at South Uist

The Met Office may think they have got all the warnings bar the one for the kitchen sink in force overnight, but it looks like they’ve forgotten the one for strong winds to cover this evenings severe S’SEl’y gales across the Western Isles. The winds are gusting 58 knots at South Uist and the occluding frontal system has still some way to go before it clears through later tonight. It’s rather a wild night out there tonight.

  1. Yeah… gusts of under 60 knots are nowhere near enough for a warning. Might rattle a few sheds…
