Hampshire move north
You’ll have to take my word for this little slip from Matt Taylor on the BBC Weather this morning, trivial yes, but it does make you wonder if what weather presenters say is ever watched back at Meteogroup HQ, and because this forecast was taped, it was broadcast at least twice this morning to my knowledge. He probably never noticed it, or if he did probably thought it wasn’t worth the effort of doing it over again. He was right, there was a large thermal contrast across the country, and another moderate frost across central and northern Scotland, with temperatures still below freezing here at lunchtime. Here’s how it looked at 09 UTC, his 13°C in Somerset must have come from the hourly climate observations the Met Office make you pay to see.
