High pressure to end May – but no heatwave

The long awaited change of type in the form of high pressure will arrive by this time next week, that’s if the latest forecast from the ECMWF is to be believed. The high pressures cell is transient, and it won’t be long before it’s migrated north to allow a cool north or northeasterly flow down it’s eastern flank across IONA, so no heatwave for the start of June, with the distinct possibilities that the risk of frost, at least on the ground.
