Highest pressure in IONA since 1957

The 1050.2 hPa at the Mumbles lighthouse in South Wales and Dunkeswell in Devon at 23 UTC this evening were more than likely the highest surface pressure to have been occurred in IONA since the 16th of January 1957, when 1050.9 hPa was recorded at Belmullet in northwest Ireland. Observations with pressure higher than 1050 hPa are likely anywhere across the south through the course of the night. The questions is how high will it go? Local residents in the area have reported feeling rather depressed tonight but doctors say things will improve during the course of the next week.
