It may have been a dry spring up until now but the last year has still been wet

If you look at the regional rainfall statistics for the northeast of England and Scotland for the last year which represents a fairly typical example of precipitation across the whole of the UK, you’ll see that although it’s been quite a dry spring up until now, the last year has still been very wet. The northeast for example has seen over 994 mm of rain in the last twelve months which is 124.7% of the 1981-2010 LTA during that period.
