It’s a shame the air is not a touch colder

Up here in Easter Ross Ben Wyvis to our north has a good covering of snow at the moment, and the snow level locally is at around 250 metres. Not much snow reported in the 12 UTC SYNOPs across the country although the temperature on top of Cairngorm is only -3.7°C and on Great Dun Fell in the northern Pennines -1.0°C. The sun doesn’t really get much above the yardarm at this time of year here and the temperature here has only just managed to struggle up to 3°C. Elsewhere a triple point feature is crossing southern England meaning a wet polling day further south.
