These BBC weathercasters never seem to get the message about this cold weather in the north. It might be come as news to Stav but it’s been snowing quite merrily for the last hour in Dingwall, and Dingwall is nine metres above sea level. This is snow falling to low ground, not hill snow, mountain snow, or snow to higher elevations or whatever way you want to term it. The snow mentioned in the yellow warning from the UKMO is not just restricted to ground above 200 M amsl, not that the BBC team of weathercasters or anyone at Meteogroup ever read warnings, in fact it clearly states that snow may fall to lower elevations for a time.
