I hadn’t realised how warm most of Iberia had been so far this July with typical anomalies in the range +2 to +4°C. Much of north Africa, Southern Italy and Turkey also look to have been much warmer than average, but the heat seems to have skipped Greece. After the heatwave of last month much of Norway seems to have gone into reverse with anomalies of -2°C or higher (or do I mean lower). Meanwhile the cool July continues across the UK but the warmth of the last few days seems to be equalising temperatures across the south. It also looks like summer has finally arrived in Iceland. It looks like the UK has been tapping air directly from the cold pool in the central Atlantic.
