Looking north over Ben Wyvis from Strathpeffer
At this time of the year in Northern Scotland it never truly goes dark. I took this picture well after midnight and the sunset colours were still very much in evidence across the northern horizon. I did hear that it’s possible to play a round of golf on the Shetlands if the weathers fit at midnight on the solstice and I can well believe it. I notice that the sunset on the 21st is a minute later than it was yesterday here, and that astronomical twilight never starts for the poor astronomers here.
