Last nights frost
Last night there was a slight to moderate frost across Scotland, which was locally severe in places with a snow cover. The lowest temperature I saw from the combined SYNOP and climate stations was -7.8°C at Loch Glascarnoch. Locally here in Strathpeffer a number of roads including the A834 are affected by sheet ice caused by overflowing blocked drains, and it wasn’t till late morning that temperatures managed to climb above zero. Yesterday afternoon and evening was the first time this week that snow finally managed to put a dusting on the ground after four days of trying.
