All the talk of a drought recently seem to have evaporated at least for the moment after the thundery rain of last month pepped up the figures. Talk of a drought in what has been a wet year was quite bizarre really. The England and Wales UKP totals are still 22.5% higher than average at the end of June, but the 12 month moving average (trailing) for the last thirty years shows that this recent wet spell was not as high as either of those in 2000-01 or 2012-13, and we now seem to be on the downhill slope of that particular roller coaster graph.
