Look Mum no occlusion!

They must have let the chief out who has a penchant for adding occlusions of any description and shape to his analysis charts do a nightshift down in Exeter last night. I realise that there are such things as cold occlusions, but in this case the occlusion chasing the cold front across the Midlands in the 06 UTC analysis isn’t one of them. The reason I say this is because if the cold front had cleared through London, minimum overnight temperatures [18-06] there would not have been at the record 16°C level. In my opinion the occlusion in the UKMO analysis for 06 UTC is in actuality the cold front, and the cold front in my 09 UTC analysis which replace air in the warm sector with dewpoints of 13-15°C with dewpoints of 6-7°C, was just clearing the city.
