Low Ailton not playing ball
Low Ailton is close to the Scillies at 14 UTC and may well be a little deeper than anticipated by the 06 UTC run of the German ICON model. There are steep pressure falls at St Mary’s, and the low itself could well track just north of the islands rather than further south in the entrance to the English channel. If it does track further north across southern England it could well introduce gale force southwesterlies for a time along the south coast. I notice there isn’t a strong wind warning in force at the moment from the Met Office.
