Mild air pushes into eastern Europe

Storm Christoph has made short work of the short cold spell that had become established across Scandinavia and eastern Europe since the New Year, pushing mild southwesterlies right into eastern Russia by today. I don’t think they’ll be a repeat performance of the beast from the east anytime soon, and the ten day outlook from the models suggest things are continuing the very mobile and cyclonic theme across IONA with little sign of any real deep cold air or anticyclone on the horizon.
