North-south split continues

A miserable cold day across much of central and southern England this Saturday, with midday anomalies as much as -5°C below the long-term average. That’s all courtesy of the upper vortex and cold pool that’s still rotating around down there and producing a wet afternoon across much of Wales. Meanwhile north of the border it’s wall to wall blues skies and sunshine all the way, it’s not particularly warm in the wind and near to the east coast, but most people up here just grit their teeth and accept it for what it is – another glorious day.
