The east coast of both England and Scotland has been quite dry for a good long while now, but the coast of Yorkshire and Durham seem to have made up a bit for it yesterday with as much as 41.8 mm recorded in the 24 hours to 06 UTC this morning at Fylingdales, certainly not a knotted handkerchief kind of day at Scarborough.
